Nurture Day Nurseries recognises the significance of nutritious and balanced meals from a variety of different cuisines.

The on-site nursery chefs work in fully equipped, professional kitchens to freshly prepare daily meals for the children.

Both Nurture: SW19 & SW20 have been awarded the maximum 5-star rating for its consistently exceptional food hygiene standards, policies and procedures. This was issued by Environmental Health & The Food Standards Agency.

The chefs work to create a variety of different dishes that encompass plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, oily fish, meat and poultry. Diverse menus are a vital component in our healthy eating approach to encourage tasting of different flavours and dishes from around the world. Where possible organic fruit and vegetables will be used in the preparation of the meals and any special dietary requirements can be catered for.

Menus will be on display throughout the nurseries and rotate every 4 weeks and change throughout the year to keep the meals varied for the children. Once the 4 weeks has elapsed we reverse the weekly menu so that our 2-3 day children get an 8 week varied menu.

The food consistency will be varied for the different age groups, for example:
6 months: Puree
9 months: Textured and Semi-Puree
12 months: Chunky

Daily eating at a Nurture Day Nursery is a social occasion where children will be taught about the healthy food they are eating, what benefits it has for their well-being, how to serve themselves and lay the table for others. Life skills and knowledge that will become second nature.
